It is Don’s ambition to break the World Land Speed record for an Electric car. September 2015 will be the 80th anniversary of Sir Malcolm’s 301mph record.

On September 3rd 1935 Sir Malcolm Campbell MBE became the first person to exceed 300mph on land. He had achieved his life long ambition.

Sir Malcolm broke his first record in 1924 and by 1935 had broken the Land Speed Record a total of 9 times. He then went on to break 4 World Water Speed Records. Don and the team are planning to commemorate the 301mph run with a fresh attempt on the World Land Speed record for an Electric Car 80 years later on the famous Bonneville salt Flats USA .

The new Bluebird Electric is designed for speeds in excess of 400 mph.The record currently is 307.66mph held by the Buckeye Bullet from America.
